Suzuki Sport Europe hands over to Monster Sport Europe

Suzuki Sport Europe, the Hungarian based Junior World Rally team, will cease all Motorsport related activities at the end of 2010.

Suzuki Sport Europe was established in 2002 at the beginning of the Junior World Rally Championship. The base was to be in Hungary, Central Europe, as this was deemed to be a perfect location from which to begin the Suzuki campaign.
Suzuki Sport Europe have contested many World and European events over this period of time and have taken multiple victories. At Rally de Espana, we became the 2010 Junior World Rally Champion with the young German driver, Aaron Burkart.

Over the past years Suzuki Sport Europe have successfully built, maintained and supported both the Suzuki Ignis S1600 and Suzuki Swift S1600.

They have also given many young, up and coming drivers a professional platform from which to launch their careers. With the professional services and backing of the Suzuki Sport Europe Team, some of these drivers have gone on to take seats in the elite classes of Rallying.

Due to the decision taken by the F.I.A. to replace the Junior World Rally Championship in 2011 with the WRC Academy, the decision has been made to close the Hungarian division of the Monster Sport Group and transfer their operations over to Monster Sport Europe in the UK.

Monster Sport Europe was also established in 2002 as the official Suzuki works team for the Junior World Rally Championship.
They competed in the Junior World Rally Championship from 2003 to 2007 winning the Junior World Rally Championship twice.
Along with great success in the Junior Championship, Monster Sport also had great success in the Production World Rally Championship with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX and at home in the UK with the Ignis S1600 and Group N Suzuki Swift.
